Pest Control in Burnham, Maine

What pest control looks like in Burnham

Burnham sits at the crossroads of Central Maine, and homes here deal with the same pests found throughout the region — ants, spiders, mice, and seasonal invaders. We provide dependable pest control for Burnham residences and properties along the Route 100 corridor.

Route 100 is the spine. Houses and small commercial along that corridor get ants, mice, and seasonal invaders. It is not a downtown cockroach map.

We pair Burnham with Pittsfield, Unity, or Clinton so the Waldo edge of the list is a planned loop, not a leftover.

If you are actually in Unity or Clinton, use those pages. The truck does not care, the notes do.

Burnham: Unity Pond, the Sebasticook and a lot of empty camps

Burnham is small, with 1,096 residents in the 2020 census, but it has plenty of water. Unity Pond reaches into town, Twentyfive Mile Stream runs out of it, and the Sebasticook River crosses Burnham on its way south toward Clinton. Water covers about 2.3 of the town's 41 square miles, and that much shoreline and low ground keeps mosquitoes around well into summer.

Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 count about 670 homes in Burnham, and nearly three in ten are seasonal or occasional-use properties, one of the highest shares in the area. That matters in the fall. Mice move into whatever warm, quiet building they find first, and a camp that is shut up after Labor Day can hold a winter's worth of nesting and droppings by the time anyone opens it again. The year-round housing is mostly single-family homes. About one in five was built before 1960, often with outbuildings, woodsheds and stone foundations that need to be sealed separately from the house.

Burnham is in Waldo County, which had one of the highest Lyme disease rates in Maine in 2024, at about 608 cases per 100,000 people, with 137 anaplasmosis cases reported that same year, according to Maine CDC. The town was also on the Maine Forest Service's 2023 list of browntail moth towns. Checking for ticks after time in the woods or tall grass along the river is part of normal life here.
