Request serviceDover-Foxcroft and the Piscataquis County region sit at the edge of Maine's vast northern forests, which means properties here often encounter wildlife and pest pressure from the surrounding wilderness. We provide reliable pest control and rodent exclusion for homes and businesses in the Dover-Foxcroft area.
This is the northern edge of the regular list. Forest edge lots get mice, squirrels in attics, and ticks in a way downtown Waterville does not.
We still run it. The honest version: we pair Dover-Foxcroft with Dexter or Bangor so the trip is a workday, not a one-house special. Morning calls make that possible.
Exclusion matters more here than a spray. If something is living in the attic, we say so before we talk product.
Dover-Foxcroft started as two towns on opposite banks of the Piscataquis River and merged in 1922. Both sides were mill villages, with sawmills, shingle and clapboard makers, and a piano factory in Foxcroft from 1866 to 1921. Much of that housing survives. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put about 36 percent of the town's homes before 1940, one of the highest shares in the area. Farmhouses with attached ells and barns and village homes on old stone foundations give mice many ways in, and damp riverside cellars suit carpenter ants.
As the county seat and the commercial center of Piscataquis County, Dover-Foxcroft is the most built-up place in a county that is mostly forest. The town covers about 71 square miles, and outside the village it is largely woodland and farms. Homes at the edge of the woods get more pressure from mice, squirrels and other wildlife looking for shelter than homes in the village do.
Winters here are cold, and mice move indoors as early as the first hard frost in the fall. Ticks are present, but Piscataquis County's preliminary Lyme disease rate for 2024 was 114.7 cases per 100,000 residents. That is lower than Penobscot or Somerset counties, but it is up from 23.8 in 2020. Checking for ticks after yard work or a walk in the woods is still worthwhile.

Devin is wonderful! Prompt and professional. While it appears there is no problem, he put out some traps to monitor the situation which gave me some peace of mind. I highly recommend Campbell's Pest Control and will always use them in the future.

Forest-edge mice, attic squirrels, carpenter ants, ticks, and mosquitoes. Wildlife pressure is higher here than in the Kennebec towns.
