Windsor is best known for the Windsor Fair on Ridge Road, an agricultural fair that reached its 138th year in 2026. The town began as Malta in 1809, was renamed Gerry in 1820 and became Windsor in 1822. Of its 35.5 square miles, less than one square mile is water. That leaves farmland, pasture and wood lots, not lakes, around most homes.
