Request serviceJust a short drive from our home base in Palmyra, Newport is one of the communities we serve most frequently. Whether you're dealing with ants in a lakeside camp on Sebasticook Lake or rodents in a downtown business, our team provides fast, reliable pest control throughout the Newport area.
Sebasticook Lake camps and downtown businesses are both regular stops. The lake jobs are mosquitoes, ticks, and mice at close-up. Downtown is ants, mice, and the occasional restaurant cockroach call.
Route 2 and Route 7 put Newport on the way to Bangor and Dexter. We use that when we can so a Newport house does not wait on a special trip.
Palmyra is the next town west. If you are actually in Palmyra or Corinna, those pages match the driveway.
Newport is built around water. Sebasticook Lake sits entirely inside the town and is the largest lake in Maine contained in a single town, and about 7.5 of Newport's 37 square miles are water. Martin Stream and the East Branch of the Sebasticook River drain the rest. Shoreline camps and year-round homes along the lake sit next to wet, shaded ground, which is where ticks, mosquitoes and moisture-loving carpenter ants do best.
The town was settled around 1808 and became a railroad terminus when the Dexter and Newport line opened in 1868, later adding a woolen mill in 1891. That history left a village of older homes near the rail line and mill. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put about 24 percent of Newport's housing before 1940, with a median build year of 1976, so the town mixes old village houses with newer homes and camps. Older foundations and sills are the usual entry point for mice once nights turn cold.
Interstate 95, U.S. Route 2 and Routes 7, 11 and 100 all cross the town, and Newport borders Palmyra, Corinna, Stetson, Etna and Plymouth. Browntail moth reached here too: Newport was on the Maine Forest Service's December 2022 list of towns with significant browntail populations, although the population statewide collapsed in 2024 and 2025. Penobscot County's preliminary 2024 Lyme disease rate was 162.6 cases per 100,000 residents.

Devin is wonderful! Prompt and professional. While it appears there is no problem, he put out some traps to monitor the situation which gave me some peace of mind. I highly recommend Campbell's Pest Control and will always use them in the future.
