Corinna village sits beside Corundel Lake, where Routes 7, 11 and 43 meet between Newport, Dexter, Exeter and St. Albans. The East Branch of the Sebasticook River and Alder Stream drain the town. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put the median build year at 1985, with roughly one home in seven built before 1940. Many homes sit on open rural lots or against the tree line. Houses that back onto woods and fields see more mice in the fall, and barns, sheds and woodpiles give them and carpenter ants places to live close to the house.
The streams, lake edge and wooded lots also make good habitat for ticks. Penobscot County's preliminary Lyme disease rate for 2024 was 162.6 cases per 100,000 residents, and Maine CDC's 2024 figures show July and August as the busiest months for new cases, the same months people are out mowing, gardening and working in the woods.
