Request servicePittsfield residents and businesses trust us for dependable pest management year-round. From seasonal mosquito and tick treatments for families to commercial pest control for local businesses along Main Street, we've got Pittsfield covered.
Main Street businesses and the housing around Maine Central Institute are short runs from Palmyra. We treat commercial and residential with the same crew, different product mix.
I-95 makes Pittsfield easy to pair with Burnham and Newport. Morning calls get on that loop.
Older mill-era housing still takes mice and carpenter ants. Newer subdivisions off the interstate are more of a seasonal ant and wasp job.
Pittsfield grew as a mill town on the Sebasticook River. Water power at the falls brought a gristmill and sawmill, the railroad arrived in 1855, and the Waverly Woolen Mill was built in 1891 and 1892 along with 52 company houses rented to workers. That history shows in the housing: census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put the median build year at 1970, with about 31 percent of homes built before 1940 and nearly half before 1960. Houses of that age often have stone or brick foundations, gaps at the sill and old balloon-frame walls that let mice travel from cellar to attic.
Maine Central Institute, a boarding school, sits in the middle of town, and dormitories and older rental housing near the school and downtown share walls and basements, which helps pests spread between units. Around the village, the town is mostly farmland and woods across about 48 square miles.
Ticks are a bigger concern in Somerset County than almost anywhere else in central Maine. The county's preliminary Lyme disease rate for 2024 was 344.8 cases per 100,000 residents, well above the statewide rate of 230 and up from 73.3 in 2020. Pittsfield was also on the Maine Forest Service's December 2022 list of towns with significant browntail moth populations, though browntail numbers dropped sharply across Maine in 2024 and 2025.

Devin is wonderful! Prompt and professional. While it appears there is no problem, he put out some traps to monitor the situation which gave me some peace of mind. I highly recommend Campbell's Pest Control and will always use them in the future.
